Rhino Modular Workbenches
INTRO
Arts University of Bournemouth were looking to source new workbenches for their upgraded arts facility. Their requirement was for large workbenches with cutting mats to fit, and our new Modbench range seemed to be the ideal solution due to the strength required, but also the option to be mobile and taken down and stored if the need arose.
THE CHALLENGE
The refit would be for around 7 Benches and required a short lead time. The idea of having a large bench workstation per group with a made-to-fit Cutting Mat on top was the ultimate solution for them. The existing benches had multiple smaller cutting mats joined together meaning knives falling into the joins. In addition, a quick turnaround of the project was important, and they didn’t really have the in-house resource to make this happen.
THE SOLUTION
Normally our Modbenches are delivered in kit form for ease of delivery, however, we offered a solution of building them in our factory and transporting them fully assembled so they could be installed within a few hours and be up and running the same day. The University was sold on this idea as meant minimal downtime for the students and they could get up and running quickly.
THE RESULT
The finished result was amazing with a very happy customer having 7 new 2000 x 1000mm Modular Workbenches, ordered and delivered within a matter of 2 weeks and minimal fuss and teaching downtime and the 1 piece Cutting mat was revolutionary against the old multiple mats joined together.
They now have an exceptional space with new heavy-duty workbench stations complete with long-lasting cutting mats which help create a smart, workspace with ultimate functionality! Job done.
